Day 5
I was super busy last night so I didn't have time to post buy yesterday was a good day. No cravings at all, I felt full, and energetic all day long. I noticed that even though I don't wake up with sore muscles, by the end of the day they still hurt pretty good but it is getting much better. My weight is still dropping at 170.2.

Day 4
Today was a good day. I had good energy all the way up until I got off work. I think the second that my brain starts to relax, my body relaxes even more. My back is feeling good and I don't have a headache right now so that's even better. I guess this fast is working out nicely. I had a good drink tonight that was a handful of strawberries and a few kiwis. It was pretty tasty for being so easy. I'm going to bed early tonight to get ready for tomorrow. This mornings weigh in was 172.4!

Day 3
Well I have got to say, day three has been the worst by far. I was in good spirits all last night and this morning but I hit a wall at work and really slowed down. I only had 3 drinks today so that might have something to do with it. I normally have 4 or 5 but after work I didn't even feel like making a drink. My back isn't hurting near as bad as yesterday so that is fantastic, but I do have another really bad headache. I haven't weighed myself today so I will do that tomorrow and post it. I am afraid if I keep loosing weight I may have to stop the fast. I think 170 is my cut off. If I go below that I will continue to juice for breakfast and possibly lunch, but introduce salad with nuts for dinner. I can't believe it's already been 3 whole days though. It has gone by fairly fast!

End of day 2
I couldn't have said it better earlier. Mornings are easier than nights! Work wasn't bad today. I was very energetic throughout the day and never felt a lull. I felt hungry pretty steady all day but had to force myself to finish my drinks. I just had an orange aol for dinner and that seemed to fill me up more so than any other drink. My pain level has dropped to about a 5/10 but was up to about an 8.5 at work today. My headache is still pretty bad but this is all normal. I don't feel any groggy effects of the fast. More to come.
Day 2 morning
I had an interesting surprise when I woke up and weighed in...My weight dropped pretty good overnight. My energy level is actually really high. I'm not a morning person at all but today was different. I am still very achy and sore but that's normal for morning time. I had my orange aol for breakfast and brought 2 drinks with me today to work. 1 is my green drink-
10 kale leaves
1 small peace of ginger
1 cucumber
3 stocks of celery
2 apples
1/2 lemon
1 handful spinach
I also brought a drink I found last night that someone called the carrot cleanser-
6 carrots
1 beet with the greens
1 cucumber
Overall I feel good. I feel like I made it over a hump and it's easier today but I think mornings are way easier than nights.

AOL
Day one is coming to an end and I am really feeling my body detoxing. I have a severe headache, and my neck/back pain is at about a 7/10 on a pain scale. This is average for me as far as my pain goes and haven't really found Tylenol or ibuprofen to help. I haven't really felt hungry or the need to eat solid foods at all today but this is just day one, i'm sure that will change.
Adding 2 granny smith apples to any vegetable drink is a great way to sweeten it up and make it not so "vegetable" tasting. I prefer it either way but its good to change it up a bit.
For my watermelon kiwi drink i simply juiced 1/2 small watermelon(which yields a ton of juice), and 1 kiwi. I didn't even bother to peel the kiwi i just threw it in and it worked out well.
For my AOL I have made this 2 different ways. I switch it up to avoid monotony but here are my 2 recopies, basically the same just flip flopped with the quantities.
Orange AOL-
4 large oranges
2 apples (I prefer granny smith)
1 lemon
Apple AOL-
4 apples
2 oranges
1 lemon
I am going to have 1 more drink in about an hour and then it will be off to bed. Other than the severe headache, I feel the same as far as strength, energy, and focus. I will update this blog nightly so stay tuned.
Day 1 starting weight-177.6 Lbs
Day 1 ending weight-176.4 Lbs
Day 1 Juicing
Spicy green(ish) drink-
1 large handful of spinach
10 kale leaves
1 small slice of onion
1 small slice of ginger
3 large carrots
1/2 lemon
1/2 tomato
3 large pieces of celery stock. (I used 6 half sizes)
1/2 large cucumber
I did the juicing in this order because the first half of the ingredients don't yield that much juice so it helps to wash out the remainder juices with the other ingredients. This was a good spicy drink that has kept me full for about 3 hours. I filmed the video at about 10:30am and after running a few errands, I am posting this at 1:30. I will probably make a drink in about a half hour or so.

The Beginning

I recently watched a documentary on Netflix about a man who had a rare disease and who was also over weight. His main thought about the fast was that if he took care of a scrape on the outside of his body, it would heal itself. Why couldn't this also be true about certain things that are going on inside the body. He drank strictly juice for 60 days, lost a ton of weight(not literally) and his disease is in remission. He feels great and couldn't be happier. That is my goal.
I will juice fruits and veggies for 30 days and track my process along the way.
My main purpose of this fast is not to lose weight. I know that I am going to and that is an extra bonus, but for me, it is something I need to change much more than my weight. It's how my body feels. I have woken up every day for the past 4 years with an achy back, neck, or head. I hurt all day long and it is starting to effect the things that I need to do on a daily basis to be productive. My pain has gotten to the point that I cannot bend over and change my daughters diaper without getting extremely stiff and sore when I stand back up.
I know this has a lot to do with my diet, and that is why I am starting this cleanse. I have already cut out soda from my diet and hope to never drink it again. (Coke is my weakness). I will share thoughts, feelings, and recipes as I go.
My end goal is not a weight or a figure, it is merely feeling good, so that I can enjoy my wife and kids for years to come!
